A NEW MONTHLY DOWNTOWN
NEWSPAPER IS GETTING READY TO HIT THE
STANDS. The Winston-Salem

"HUTCH
& HARRIS" IS THE NEWEST FOURTH STREET RESTAURANT.
A new restaurant called “Hutch & Harris Pub” will open in
mid-January in the space formerly known as
Bistro 420 at the corner of Fourth and Spruce
streets in downtown Winston-Salem.
Chef-owner Greg Richardson, a graduate of Johnson &
Wales University with 25 years of restaurant
experience, most recently managed the Ramshead
Tavern in Annapolis, Maryland. Richardson
describes the new pub as a gathering place for
people who enjoy freshly prepared food from a
quality menu of regional and international
selections concentrating on seafood, burgers and
pasta dishes from industry tested recipes and
family favorites. Also on the menu will be local
brews and North Carolina wines, in addition to
top shelf spirits and freshly brewed espresso.
Bistro 420 owner, Ken Martin, said that he had
completed 9 years of a 10-year plan when an
opportunity presented itself to put another
chef-owned restaurant in the spot that he
considers the “best location in downtown.” “I
can take some time now to pursue personal
interests that I’ve been putting off, but I’ll
continue to support downtown and the new energy
that Greg can bring to Fourth Street.
Hutch & Harris Pub, named for Richardson family members, will
be open Monday through Saturday for lunch and
dinner with a 2 a.m. closing. The interior will
be completely renovated and will include an
exhibition kitchen and expanded bar. Both
indoor and outdoor seating will be available
year around by using heaters in the winter.
Plans call for local talent to provide live
entertainment on a regular basis, including
singer/songwriter performances.
“We’re looking forward to being a part of the excitement that
brought us to downtown Winston-Salem” said
Richardson, “ and we congratulate Ken Martin for
being one of the original pioneers who started
Restaurant Row on Fourth Street. We hope all of
Ken’s loyal friends and customers will visit
Hutch & Harris Pub and make it a new favorite
destination for good food and entertainment.”
